【SFM】小蝶之梦（Fluttershy’s Dream）

I don’t think it’s about getting replaced. The “mean” Fluttershy in her dream seems to represent her inner demons. Like most of us, we tend to run from our inner demons, instead of facing them like we should. Fluttershy’s insecurities have always centered around her self-esteem and self-worth amongst her friends. She’s “running” from the fear of her friends hating and/or abandoning her. It’s a fear she may never fully face, but she’s learning to accept that there are ponies who really care about her, flaws and all.）”————————MidnightSonnet

When we first see the other Fluttershy, she spins and enjoys her wings, almost like she’s either enjoying existing or happy to have this body. The look doesn’t strike me as mean, just smug or proud, she hadn’t wronged the original Fluttershy in the video so I don’t think she’s mean, just not afraid and maybe even a little arrogant. Most of the video, I see the other leading Fluttershy, and even a point where I think the other is reaching out for Fluttershy lightly, an encouragement to her to try and catch her and be rid of her demons, but in the end with the lights chasing her it makes me think her insecurities got the better of her.
